Enter the Janitor – Audiobook – Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Humor

This is such a fun book. With the Sci-Fi Fantasy aspect, I had permission from the author to go waaaay out on a limb and create some big, bold characters! The sequel is getting close to being ready, and I should be starting the narration in a week or so. Check this one out! Get it at Audible.

“Cleanliness is next to …”

The narrator provided his usual excellent narration. I’ve read a few books that he has narrated, and this is one of the most versatile narrators I’ve come across. In fact, he is so good that I would seriously consider reading a book just because he happened to be narrating it, even if the book itself was only of passing, or even of doubtful, interest to me.

“Stupidly Funny”

This book was funny, exciting and in some places a near tear jerker. In other words an almost perfect start to a series. The narrator did an excellent job on the voices and I can’t wait to listen to the next book.

“An entertaining and fun story, with a good narator”

I’m of the opinion that narrator’s can make or break an audio version of a book, this one falls into the good category (yay). Gilboe had distinct voices for each of the characters, so I never found myself confused about who was talking. There was an interesting accent for one of the characters [Stewart the trash mage] that took me a second to settle onto. But once I got into the book it was ok. A moment that sticks in my head, and that firmly planted the narrator into the good category for me, was where a normally even-toned character [Sydney] had the briefest slip of showing an emotion. It was one of many moments the narrator changed his tone (without making you think it was someone else speaking) and thereby got a character’s subtle or hinted at inner emotions across perfectly.

I had fun listening to this and if you like humorous sci-fi with good narration, you’ll enjoy this one.

“Janitors Clean Up the Universe”

I really liked the character of Ben, who takes on the role of a mentor figure to Dani reminiscent of a perpetually dirty Obiwan with a sense of humor (another Ben coincidentally)
