It has been a LONG time since I have posted any new music. And there is a reason for that… for the past two years I have been hard at work on my Thesis project for my MFA in playwriting from Hollins University.
So I have finished my these, and I’ve now started to work on getting good vocal demos. (The CD I turned in for my these was an ensemble of me. 🙂 )
So the show, The Magnificent Illusion, is about a Magician in Paris during the German Occupation during WWII.
This is the act I finale. I don’t want to say too much, because there are a lot of “spoiler alerts” in this musical…. Let’s just say that the number is a magic performance where Markos’ female assistants disappear one by one… meant to parallel events that have recently happened offstage (Scenes that will be happening with the minor key underscoring.)
Thanks to Krystine Wendt and Laura Beth Kirk for singing the parts for the assistants. You pulled off the wonderful silly with aplomb.
I will be posting a few more track from this fairly soon!
